Career - VOIP Engineer SPV

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and identify capacity, quality, and performance issues for VoIP traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of telephony systems.
  • Will also provide expert technical assistance for VoIP growth networks, systems upgrades, and new equipment purchases.
  • Perform, and troubleshoot, on all voice services for all LAN and WAN hardware modules, and configure appropriate media modules.
  • Keep up to date with developments in technology, particularly related to SIP based technology, Session Border Controllers, IP Interconnect, NGN based platforms (Softswitch, Centralized Routing Engine) and UC/Collaboration technologies.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent from a reputable university with a minimum GPA of 3.00
  • At least 8 years of experience designing, supporting, and configuring VoIP phone systems, including all peripheral products, Experience with Softswitch and Voip products, such as Unity, Jabber, UCCX, Expressway, and Informacast, a plus
  • Strong understanding of SIP Network requirements, functions, technology, protocols, SIP Interconnect Framework, and IP Voice fundamentals
  • Understanding of the use of codecs in VoIP networks, including for HD Voice and their impact on voice quality.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of NGN technology as applied to Session Border Controllers, SIP Proxys, Softswitches and Centralized Routing Engines.
